Together Carta is creating the end-to-end ERP platform for private markets. Traditional ERP solutions dont work for Private Funds. Private capital markets need a comprehensive software solution to replace outdated spreadsheets and fragmented service providers. Cartas software for the Office of the Fund CFO does just that - its a new category of software to make private markets look more like public markets - a connected ERP for private capital.

The Team Youll Work With

Carta is looking for a Sydney-based Sales Development Representative to join our Corporations Sales team and support Cartas expansion across the Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) region.

Youll be part of the broader Asia Pacific Corporations Sales team which focuses on selling Cartas cap table and equity management software to private companies. Since launching in the region in 2021 weve built a world-class go-to-market organization supporting the growth of our Corporations business across diverse markets.

This is a high-impact role within a collaborative cross-functional team responsible for Cartas growth in private markets. Youll work closely with Sales Customer Experience Marketing and Product to deliver exceptional value to founders CFOs and finance leaders across ANZ.

The Problems Youll Solve

Business Demand Generation

  • Identify Cartas Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) prospect via multiple channels like Email Phone LinkedIn to generate conversations
  • You will help drive the overall company pipeline. Create and manage outreach campaigns to startup founders and employees leveraging customer-first approach
  • Match prospect pain points to specific value propositions across various buyer personas roles and functions
  • Work closely with the AE team to build a healthy sales pipeline
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to elevate Cartas brand awareness and drive top-of-funnel acquisition
  • Respond quickly and efficiently triage leads based on channel and need

Data and Process Integrity & Maintenance

  • Build and manage sizable lead lists in order to glean unique insights and drive desirable business outcomes
  • Ensure data integrity across critical business systems (e.g. Salesforce Outreach Marketo and Carta)

The Impact Youll Have

As a Sales Development Representative you will be part of a small team managing all commercial aspects of Cartas growth in Asia. You will drive demand develop and iterate on critical internal operations.

About You

  • Grit - Ambitious driven and fearless in the face of rejection
  • Coachability - Tremendous desire to constantly improve in a no-egos and high velocity environment
  • Emotional Intelligence - Ability to read emotional cues understand a customers needs and navigate a conversation with meaningful solutions
  • Customer-Facing Experience - Experience working in a high volume customer-facing role. Able to professionally communicate with founders CEOs and senior executives
  • An Interest in APACs Startup Ecosystem: Understanding of APACs startup scene and a passion for keeping abreast of the latest trends from across the ecosystem.
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • Track record of success in a lead generation role is a plus
  • Ability to break down and effectively communicate complex topics

Nice to have:

  • Experience managing data in a CRM system (Preferably: Salesforce)
  • Proficiencies with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite (GSuite)
  • Knowledge of finance venture capital and accounting
  • Experience working at a high-growth software company or venture capital firm
