Job Description
Title: Flexographic Press Operator
Location: Ft. Worth TX
Reports to: Shift Supervisor
Shift Hours: Wednesday-Friday 5pm-5am
Position Summary:
The Flexographic Press Operator is responsible for keeping the press up and running. Be a backup press operator rewinder and shrink wrap. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:
- Perform make-ready functions
- Follow information from job tickets and prepare the press accordingly
- Enter all activities into computer for job tracking and cost accounting
- Mount plates
- Pull dies inks and cylinders for all jobs on the press schedule over the next 24 hours.
- Mix ink and make corrections to meet customer specs.
- Perform press wash-up and clean-up procedures
- Perform press maintenance
- Have full knowledge of all phases of label production.
- Press capabilities
- Finishing capabilities
- Maintain a clean and organized production floor that is safe for all employees.
- Be available to work with customers when necessary.
- Assist the management staff on special projects.
- Any other responsibilities requested by the production management staff
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Must have:
A minimum of 3 years experience as a pressman is required
- Preferred knowledge of four-color process work
Extreme attention to detail
Ability to understand and follow directions as given.
Capable of working independently and collaboratively with a team
Ability to lift 50lb
Ability to use hand pallet jack
Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of employees within the organization.
