Job Description

Saint Leo School is hiring a Kitchen/Hospitality coordinator. The hours for this position are from 9 am-1:30 pm Monday-Friday with occasional extra hours for events. Applicants who are not available all 5 days of the week may still be considered.

The Kitchen / Hospitality Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring efficient warm and welcoming food service operations at our school and parish-related functions. This position manages planning and execution of daily lunch service for students as well as organizing and coordinating hospitality for school receptions and special events.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Lunch Operations:

  • Plan and coordinate daily meal service logistics for students and staff.

  • Order appropriate food quantities oversee inventory and maintain vendor relationships.

  • Supervise food preparation set up serving stations and manage service flow.

  • Maintain a clean safe and sanitary kitchen environment in compliance with health standards and school policies.

2. Event & Reception Coordination:

  • Provide food service for receptions and gatherings associated with school/church events like Confirmation and First Holy Communion.

  • Coordinate event setup serving logistics and cleanup for teacher gatherings or schoolwide celebrations.

  • Collaborate with staff volunteers and vendors to ensure seamless event execution.

3. Administrative and Safety Duties:

  • Issue purchase orders track deliveries.

  • Monitor budgets for food services and event hospitality with School Finance Manager.

  • Comply with food safety standards; preferably hold or obtain a Food Handler or ServSafe certification.

  • Maintain an orderly and well-stocked kitchen ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.

  • Train and coordinate volunteers or supporting staff for service and event duties.

4. Communication & Community Relations:

  • Serve as the primary liaison among school staff parish representatives catering vendors and volunteers.

  • Effectively communicate and collaborate

  • Represent the school professionally during all hospitality interactions and support a welcoming school community.
