Job Description

Do you have a caring spirit and a desire to bring comfort to others Hospice volunteers play a vital role in providing companionship peace and support to patients and their families. Sometimes its as simple as offering your time your presence and your smile.

With flexible scheduling you choose when and how you want to serve. Volunteers can support patients directly or assist with clerical and behind-the-scenes taskstheres a place for everyone to make a difference.

Ways You Can Help:

  • Visit with patients and provide companionship

  • Offer respite for caregivers

  • Run errands or assist with shopping

  • Play games like BINGO or listen to music together

  • Walk a patients dog

  • Read aloud or share stories

  • Create or mail cards

  • Make bereavement support calls

  • Assist with bereavement groups

  • Participate in We Honor Veterans activities

Requirements:

  • Valid drivers license

  • Background check

  • Drug screening

  • Completion of volunteer orientation

  • A compassionate heart and desire to serve

  • Empathy for the needs of the ill injured frail or impaired
