Location: University of Hertfordshire The Forum
Job Type:
Temporary / Part-Time
Dates of Employment:
Monday 22nd Friday 26th September (8:30am 5:00pm)
Pay: Real Living Wage 12.60 per hour (no additional expenses covered)

Note: There may be an additional week of work but this is not guaranteed.


Job Summary:

We are hiring friendly and reliable event support staff to assist during Welcome Week / Freshers Fair. You will help showcase our clothing and merchandise samples guide customers through the kiosk ordering process and ensure the display area is set up and packed away each day. Orders are placed digitally via the kiosk for delivery to customers home addresses.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy customer interaction can manage light manual handling and are attentive to preventing loss or damage to displayed items.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist students visitors and customers with kiosk ordering and product selection.
  • Guide users through the digital ordering process and answer questions.
  • Maintain a tidy and welcoming display area.
  • Lift and move a display table and clothing rail each day from storage to the event area and return them at the end of the day.
  • Monitor and protect samples from theft or damage.
  • Assist in daily setup and pack-down of the display area.
  • Follow health safety and loss prevention guidelines.


Requirements:

  • Experience in customer service events or similar public-facing roles is preferred.
  • Comfortable using or assisting with touchscreen kiosks and basic tech systems.
  • Friendly professional reliable and able to work in a busy environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-first approach.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move items weighing up to 25 lbs (around 11 kg).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in event support or promotional roles.
  • Familiarity with digital ordering systems or kiosks.
  • Previous experience working at university or large public event
