Job Description

Work as part of a team or as an individual responsible for assembling an entire product or component of a product. Assembly operators can perform all tasks conducted by the team in the assembly process and rotate through all or most tasks in an area rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis. Reads and interprets blueprints positions parts and examines connections for correct fit. Performs repairs as needed and reports errors during the assembly process.- Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit ensure all parts are fitted and properly tightened connected or attached
- Resolves assembly problems as needed
- Assemble product to blueprint specifications
- Review work orders and blueprints to ensure work is performed according to specifications
- Report discrepancies between blueprints and work orders to group leader or applicable member of management
- Continuously monitor quality of products coming to and leaving from assembly station
- Rotate through all or most tasks in a particular production area
- Assist in maintaining production equipment and 5S
- Notify group leader or applicable member of management if a potential part shortage is detected
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by complying with procedures rules and regulations
- Documents actions by completing production paperwork
- Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing tasks given to them
- Performs other duties as required
Job Skills and Qualifications:
- Able to understand and learn the connection of multiple subassemblies and products
- Ability to use basic hand tools and gauges in assembling products
- Must be able to read blueprints and isometric drawings
- Dependable work history
- Works with little guidance or direction
- Must be detail and quality oriented to detect and report potential quality issues (visual and functional) during the assembly process
- Able to read/write and speak English to understand verbal and written instructions and document completion of necessary documentation
- Work in a safety minded manner
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
