About the Role

We are seeking compassionate and committed Support Workers to join our team across several locations in the Northwest Melbourne region. You will provide personalised support to individuals with disabilities helping them achieve their goals and live independently.

This role is ideal for someone who is flexible empathetic and passionate about human rights. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality person-centred care.

Locations and Shifts

  • Footscray: 3 hours per week
  • Northcote: Afternoon shifts (experience with high-level behaviours of concern required)
  • Sunbury: Day shifts
  • Altona/Altona North: All applicants welcome
  • Sleepovers: Considered across all locations
  • Other shifts: Early mornings and 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM available
  • Must be willing to travel up to 45 minutes for work
  • Shorter shifts are part of the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver respectful person-centred support aligned with individual goals
  • Assist with personal care domestic duties and skill development
  • Promote community inclusion and support social engagement
  • Implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans and health protocols
  • Collaborate with families carers and other professionals
  • Uphold Arumas values and safeguard the rights of individuals

About You

  • Passionate about human rights and inclusion
  • Willing to work flexible shifts including sleepovers
  • Comfortable with shorter shifts and travel
  • Experience with behaviours of concern (Northcote role)
  • Able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
  • Open to secondary employment (with limitations)
  • Hold or willing to obtain relevant checks and certifications
