Job Description

Function: The Woonsocket Learning Community provides all learners a safe and rigorous learning experience that embraces diversity culture and individuality to create productive members of our global community. An individual who supports interdependent student-centered classrooms that promote discourse and collaboration. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPlan a program of study that as much as possible meets the individual needs interests and abilities of a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all lessons units projects and the like to communicate these objectives to instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated the accomplishments of the students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as the learning disablilties of students on a regular basis seeking the assistance of district specialist as with colleagues students and/or parents on a regular the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct and for the classroom develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned to maintain and improve professional staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required. Required Qualifications:RIDE Science (6-12 or 5-8 Middle School)Strong experience working with students with behavioral social and emotional challenges
