You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Security Response Officer Supervisor coordinates the day-to-day shift functions on their respective shifts. They are responsible for scheduling post assignments rewarding send disciplinary actions of Security Representatives and/or Security Leads. Security Response Officer Supervisors are responsible for initial shift specific training and competencies. They will work closely with ER Charge Nurses House Managers and on-site law enforcement officers when dealing with any security related disturbance or threat. Security Response Officer Supervisors perform safety inspections and audits as required. The position relies on guidelines and some experience and judgment to complete job. Works collaboratively with staff of hospital and contracted security management company to provide a safe environment for our stakeholders. The Security Response Officer Supervisor is responsible for all hospital security operations during their shift. They will ensure that a rapid and measured response is applied to all security response notifications/alerts. Proactively addresses and deescalates tense situations and/or
conflict. Responds to requests for security assistance and works with law enforcement as needed. Enforces security policies and procedures of the hospital. Investigates incidents and prepares written reports. Provides security related training and patrols the premises as needed. The primary role and responsibility will be that of the hospitals first responder capability. Will need to maintain certification with both lethal and non-lethal response capabilities as well as semiannually physical readiness testing
and detention techniques.
Leadership and Supervision
1. Respond to de-escalate and investigate situations
reported to Security in accordance with hospital
approved methods as required. Alert appropriate
individuals of security matters while maintaining
confidentiality of involved parties to the degree
possible without putting others in harm.
2. Assist in the effective hiring of Security
Representatives and participate in the training
process for shift specific duties and post.
3. Assigns and monitors staff work and work schedules
according to Department Policy.
4. Maintain appropriate data on employee attendance
for payroll.
5. Monitors the performance improvement program
with the department.
6. Ensure that shift goals and objectives are
administered and consistent with the Directors
expectations.
7. Demonstrate ability to coach and mentor staff;
effectively discipline shift employees following
hospitals progressive discipline policy.
Evaluation and Analysis
1. Identifies ways of improving current services and
consults with Security Training manager and Director
on employee and operations issues and problems.
2. Assists that Security Director in processing annual
employee evaluations.
3. Follow up and investigates security incident reports
and updates Director.
4. Maintains and analyzes records reports and statistics
as required.
5. Evaluates manner and process of internal and
external patrols by shift members.
Quality
1. Provide quality training and orientation for assigned
employees informs co-workers of relevant
departmental policies and procedures; and allocated
tasks to co-workers as needed. Treat all co-workers
with compassion understanding and respect and
strives to enhance co-worker performance through
cooperative effort and action.
2. Develop shift procedures consistent with
departmental polices.
3. Maintain knowledge of JACHO DHH CMS Fire
Marshal codes and standards specific to security and
safety.
4. Attend mandatory meeting and in-services.
5. Serve on process improvement teams as assigned.
Training
1. Provide shift Security Representatives with initial onboarding training and coordinate shift and post
specific training.
2. Ensures staff shows competency in applying correct
and effective crisis prevention and intervention
techniques after completion of training class.
3. Coordinate department training with Security
Training Supervisor.
4. Ensure staff demonstrate enthusiasm and positive
attitude with customers.
5. Ensure staff focus on the customer; identifies the
customers needs; responds to the customer; satisfies
the customer; takes ownership.
Other duties
1. Work with Security Contractor Site Supervisor in
scheduling additional staffing.
2. Be prepared to work weekend shifts as needed;
ensuring proper coverage is always maintained.
3. Promptly notify the Security Director of any incident
that puts the facility patients or guest at risk.
Experience: 3 years of experience in the field or related area. Prior Law Enforcement Military and/or Corrections preferred.
Education: High School or equivalent
Special Skills: Successful completion of the Louisiana POST Firearms Qualification. Ability to multi-task deal with stressful high energy situations while remaining calm in critical situations. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with difficult and/or demanding individuals. Must be able to make decisions quickly. Must be a mentor to all shift Security Representatives.
Licensure: Valid Louisiana Drivers License
