Job Description

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Job Role

Diagnoses repairs reconditions and adjusts equipment as required and completes all paperwork on the troubled equipment to which the individual is assigned.

Tests diagnoses and adjusts failures of equipment. Repairs or replaces defective parts on machinery/equipment.

Disassembles components and properly clean parts. Inspects components to ensure maximum parts are being reused to control repair costs.

Creates repair estimates and submits information to substantiate quotes and estimates. Prepares all parts requisitions time cards or service reports as requested by the supervisor. Ensures they are legible and accurate with sufficient detail for service accounting needs.

Monitors job expenses versus repair estimates and ensures that the lead person is aware of any cost over run prior to the job being completed.

Assumes the lead person position temporarily as necessary.

Demonstrates utilization of dealer computer systems for work orders and other documentation.

Maintains a minimum set of tools required for job performance.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Identifies the sequence of tasks and the resources needed to achieve a goal and prioritizes key action steps. Anticipates the impacts / risks of actions. Seeks and uses others input about critical actions timelines sequencing scope methodology expected outcomes and priorities. Adjusts plans based on input.

Takes Initiative: Takes appropriate action to resolve issues without requiring direction. Seeks out others involved in a situation to learn their perspectives. Makes difficult decisions in a timely manner. Is willing to make decisions in difficult or ambiguous situations when time is critical. Assertive in a group when it is necessary to facilitate change overcome an impasse face issues or ensure that decisions are made.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Formal Education High School diploma or GED

Experience 7 or more years

Required / Credentials

Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.

10 Years direct Technician experience.

Not Required but Highly Desired Criteria

Specialized technical course or equivalent years experience as a Technician preferred.

Updating of Knowledge

Job requirements change requiring re-training to stay current every 1-2 years.

Responsibility for Change Innovation Overall Improvement and/or Effectiveness

Problem Solving Job requires complex problem solving ability with little guidance. Independent research and analysis are sometimes required to develop solutions.

Creativity Job requires some creativity to generate solutions or improve effectiveness within well-established boundaries.
