Position Summary

The Coordinator Organizational Health and Safety is responsible and accountable for surveillance education and consultation in accordance with current standards of practice. The Coordinator will work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations as well as the Infection Prevention and Control protocols MOHLTC directives and current public health practices. This role works in collaboration with the People & Culture team supporting confidential employee matters. They are expected to support analysis on employee attendance and provide assessment assist with scheduling staff for mandatory training and identifying concerns or trends to leadership and the People & Culture team as well as providing insight and support corporate change initiatives to align with Organizational priorities.

Primary Responsibilities

The Coordinator Organizational Health and Safety supports staff professional staff volunteers and learners through:

  • New hire health assessments
  • Provides confidential support to Leadership and staff
  • Wellness initiatives and health promotion
  • First aid and accident follow up
  • Immunization and Communicable disease surveillance programs
  • Counselling and referral services
  • Flu clinics
  • Mask Fit testing
  • Health teaching and promotion
  • Violence training and scheduling

Practicing in the specialty of Occupational Health & Safety the Coordinator Organizational Health and Safety encompasses the promotion maintenance and restoration of health and the prevention of illness and injury. They will closely with other interdisciplary teams such as People and Culture.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Current RPN designation through the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Three years (3) years previous RPN experience
  • One (1) year experience in Occupational Health Nursing
  • Occupational Health Nurse Certificate or willingness to work towards required
