Zeus is seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Head of Regional Sales to lead and develop our UK Industrial & Transit Packaging Regional Sales team. This is a key leadership position focused on retaining and growing a multimillion-pound customer portfolio driving high-margin revenue growth and embedding strategic sales practices across the team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering on the Sales Directors commercial strategy ensuring operational excellence and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management & Revenue Growth
- Manage retain and grow a portfolio of industrial and transit packaging accounts valued at approximately 1.5 million.
- Deliver a minimum of 150000 growth in invoiced sales per annum through existing account expansion or new customer acquisition.
- Achieve and maintain an average gross profit margin of 35% across the portfolio.
- Identify develop and implement strategic selling initiatives to maximise account penetration and long-term value.
Sales Team Leadership
- Lead the Regional Sales Team providing daily support guidance and oversight on all commercial matters in line with the team commercial strategy.
- Approve pricing commercials and client-specific deals to ensure alignment with profit and turnover targets in line with the teams strategy.
- Conduct monthly 1:1s with each team member to track progress review KPIs and develop performance improvement plans where needed.
- Drive accountability and performance across the team through proactive coaching and clear metric tracking.
Pipeline & Forecast Management
- Oversee and promote accurate and timely management of the Regional sales pipeline ensuring it reflects real-time activity and opportunities.
- Provide detailed monthly reporting on pipeline activity forecasted revenue and gap-to-target analyses.
- Support the Sales Director in developing and managing area budgets and sales forecasts for the Regional Team.
Inventory & Stock Oversight
- Take ownership of aged stock management within the Regional Sales Team ensuring a minimal financial exposure.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Engagement
- Work closely with colleagues in Procurement Operations Marketing Finance and Customer Service to ensure seamless service delivery and commercial alignment.
- Champion a culture of teamwork transparency and customer-centricity within the sales team and broader business.
- Actively contribute to cross-departmental initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction supply chain optimisation and cost control.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven track record in B2B sales and account management preferably within the packaging or manufacturing sectors.
- Demonstrated success in managing sales teams hitting targets and delivering margin-based growth.
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic sales mindset including experience with consultative or value-based selling frameworks.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation.
- Proficiency in CRM systems sales reporting tools and Microsoft Office suite.
