Job Description

Position Title: Family Stability Coordinator Vuela Program

Reports To: Talent Development Program Manager

Classification: Full-time Exempt 1.0 FTE

Compensation: $24 per hour

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This is a dynamic position responsible for bridging together two key Economic Justice programs Family Stability and Vuela. These programs holistically support families on their self sufficiency pathway while offering long term stability planning support. This position will require consistent communication with clients stakeholders such as government entities partners organizations schools and the community. Excellent follow-through attention to detail professional writing skills and excellent communication through one-on-one meetings phone calls and e-mail are required. The Family Stability Program Coordinator Vuela Program must have experience working with Latino youth and families and be able to communicate clearly and fluently in both English and Spanish.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Case management services utilizing Assertive Engagement & trauma-informed care
  • Culturally responsive culturally competent service delivery and affirmatively furthers opportunity for people who have traditionally been underserved
  • Facilitate access to aligned services and resources such as: WorkSource; Housing Assistance; DHS; Self-Sufficiency; Benefits Assistance; Legal Barrier Removal
  • Coordinate a cohort of TANF recipients participating in a series of workshops activities and events to support: life skills job search and prep stabilized living
  • Attend and represent Latino Network in workforce development networking opportunities
  • Support the design of a rigorous and engaging curriculum for Latino Networks Economic Justice Talent Development Programs.
  • Maintain programmatic records and enter program data into ETO and other relevant databases. This includes a detailed and confidential case file case notes and attendance for each participant.
  • Follow Economic Justice and Latino Network fiscal workflows accurately and consistently..
  • Assists clients with flexible client assistance to provide relief from the trauma associated with the scarcity of resources.
  • Provides follow-up services and referrals to clients to help ensure their continued stability in areas such as income social capital children wellness and health education and housing.
  • Prepares and provides reports detailing the progress of clients as requested by the Housing and Talent Development Program Manager.
  • Adherence to all Latino Network policies and procedures.
  • Performs any additional duties as directed by the Program Manager Senior Manager or Department Director.
  • Properly documents and submits all program expenditures in a timely manner.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with partner agencies institutions clients local jurisdictions state and federal agencies.
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

  • Minimum 3 years combined education training and experience in case management social service navigation peer support or a related field. Examples of experience education and training that fulfill this requirement include but are not limited to volunteer or paid work internships community-based training and workshops community college trade school university courses and degrees. Experience training and education from inside and outside of the United States are considered equally. Transferable skills and lived experience will be considered.
  • Bi-Cultural with knowledge of culturally based world view adaptive reasoning and problem-solving practices of Latino individuals families and communities living in urban neighborhoods impacted by crime poverty and racial inequity.
  • Knowledge of Assertive Engagement and trauma-informed care as well as knowledge of and experience in navigating social service and government agencies is preferred.
  • Bilingual with excellent written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English (including public speaking).
  • Knowledge of and experience working with families in the Latino community
  • Strong desire to promote economic justice in the community
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team
  • Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed
  • Ability to be flexible and creative in the work environment
  • Excellent follow-through and attention to detail
  • Knowledgeable in Google Suite and basic computer skills
  • Respect for diversity; desire and ability to work cross-culturally

  • Access to reliable transportation. Commercial Auto Liability (or become eligible within three months of date of hire).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Latino Network is a fast-paced highly engaged work environment with satellite operations with positions performing work both onsite and remotely. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); outdoor weather conditions; extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
