Job Description

Manager Privacy & HNW Compliance

This is a post in the Privacy & HNW Compliance team of the Legal & Compliance Department Hong Kong and Macau of Manulife to provide a unique opportunity to the successful candidate to provide support relating to Privacy assessments for company initiatives and regulatory updates and other internal compliance matters.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support Privacy Lead Hong Kong and Macau on privacy matters including but not limited to review and implementation of company framework as required by global and regional requirements keeping abreast with legal and regulatory developments in this area handling any regulatory enquiries handling data access requests handling privacy incidents including internal reporting handling of periodic internal QAs reporting and audits.

  • Review company initiatives and projects from privacy data transfer compliance perspective outsourcing risks and coordinate with other teams within L&C to gather input on AML product or distribution perspectives if required.

  • Support and monitor Risk Control team in fraud related investigations LEA reporting and control review and enhancement implementation.

  • Support review of corporate marketing materials and posts on social media. Take lead in monitoring and periodically updating company framework and controls in this regard.

  • Support periodic reporting matters to regional compliance Manulifes board of directors senior management etc.

  • Lead and support ad-hoc projects where required.

  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Privacy Lead.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in financial institutions preferably with a minimum of 3 years experience in compliance legal or risk role.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in privacy regulations and controls regulatory management will be an advantage.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese.

  • Good MS Office applications including Excel and Chinese Word Processing.

  • Attention to detail time management and prioritization skill set.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Works well in a team willing to support other team members.
