The Public Safety Dispatcher plays an important role in overall university security and community operations. This position works professionally with a diverse range of patrons including faculty staff students and the greater Riverside community.
- Dispatchers gain and utilize in-depth knowledge of multiple security software programs and hardware to perform daily tasks including to:
- maintain daily logs
- create reports of incidents and calls
- oversee camera and fob monitoring systems
- support Public Safety activities around campus
- Dispatchers staff the Dispatch Center in the Urness/Mortensen lobby providing customer service and answering the emergency and non-emergency phone lines
- Training will be provided
This position is currently hiring for:
- Day shifts: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM in 2-hour blocks
- Overnight shifts: 12:00 Midnight - 4:00 AM or 4:00 AM - 8:00 AM
- Please note which shifts you can work in your application
Students can expect 20 hours per week if willing to work odd hours and pick up solo shifts.
Compensation and Benefits
- Rate of Pay: $15.97/hour
- Minnesota Sick and Safe Time
- Not eligible for health insurance benefits
Qualifications :
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled at Augsburg University

- Demonstrate dependability reliability and professional attitude
- Contribute to a positive overall team environment
- Have availability and willingness to work typical overnight shifts for 8-20 hours per week during school week and on weekends12:00pm-4:00am
- Overall limit of 20 hours per week includes work at other on-campus jobs
- Must be able and willing to work some weekends and overnight shifts
- Complete dispatch training program
Desired qualifications include:
- Previous experience in dispatch security or operations

Involves sitting at a desk or work-station for extended periods and utilizing computer systems to perform duties.
