Role description:
Arcadis seeks a Senior Design Manager to join our Transportation team in New York City NY.
You will have the opportunity to work on designs of infrastructure projects for urban roadways and transit improvements in New York and other parts of the country.
The Arcadis team is involved in providing solutions to some of the most complex and exciting challenges for local and state clients including NYC MTA EDC among others. We are looking for a candidate with the skills to address these challenges and the desire to develop junior staff.
Role accountabilities:
- Serving as engineering discipline lead for infrastructure improvement projects of various scope and sizes.
- Coordinating with local national and global teams to execute Arcadis scope of work
- Interaction with client technical staff either as a team or individual making presentations and managing client expectations.
- Performing various roles on multi-disciplined projects including QA/QC reviewer technical advisor design leader and/or client facing project manager.
- Preparation of written reports calculations and other design documentation.
- Developing scope and fee for technical work
Required Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of relevant engineering experience.
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- NY Professional Engineering license or the ability to obtain one within 1 year.
Key Skills / Attributes:
- Task management experience within infrastructure design and construction engineering including cost estimates technical reports construction plans and project displays.
- Proficiency with Bentely or Autodesk suite of design products to review designs
- Must have strong organizational analytical and problem-solving skills and be a self-motivated team-oriented and flexible individual who possesses the initiative and ability to tackle new projects challenges and concepts.
- Excellent clear and concise oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings conduct effective client presentations and prepare written reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in design-build delivery methods .
- Transit Experience

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors such as experience education budget internal equity project and location.
