Job Summary:
This role is for a Medical Assistant responsible for providing clinical and administrative support in a medical facility. The position requires strong phlebotomy skills and involves patient interaction data entry and assisting with various medical procedures. A minimum of two years of experience is required along with specific certifications and adherence to a defined float policy.
Location: Blue Island Illinois United States
Responsibilities:
- Performing phlebotomy procedures.
- Assisting with patient care including vital signs and other routine tasks.
- Administering medications as directed by a provider.
- Performing basic clinical procedures (e.g. EKGs blood sugar checks).
- Maintaining patient records and charting in electronic systems (Cerner).
- Handling administrative tasks such as answering phones and scheduling appointments.
- Floating to other facilities within the system as needed.
- Adhering to facility policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Associates Degree or Diploma in Medical Assisting.
- Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA AMT NHA ARMA NCCT NRCMA).
- BLS certification.
- Minimum two years of experience as a Medical Assistant (five years preferred).
- Strong phlebotomy skills.
- Adult and pediatric experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- More than two years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
Special Considerations:
- Mandatory float to other facilities within the system.
- Must live within 75 miles of the facility.
- No pending licenses accepted.
- 5-day maximum return-to-office (RTO) policy with restrictions on consecutive days holidays and weekends.
- 5x8 hour shifts Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Scheduling:
- Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- 5x8 hour shifts.
- Shift assignments are determined by facility needs and the mandatory float policy.
