Job Description
Introduction
We would need a qualified nurse who is capable of approving first time casuals as well as will be prepared to take on the roll of training officer.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Occupational Health Nursewith strong knowledge of Food Safety and GMP standardsto join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for employee health assessments medical surveillance staff onboarding and delivering training programs aligned with food safety and occupational health requirements.
Must be able to speak read and write English and Afrikaans fluently
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-employment periodic and exit medical examinationsfor staff.
- Manage employee health recordsin line with company policy and legal requirements.
- Support the staff onboarding process including health screening and orientation.
- Develop and deliver training programsrelated to food safety personal hygiene and workplace health.
- Provide first aid and emergency medical supportas required.
- Monitor workplace conditions and recommend improvements to ensure health safety and food safety compliance.
- Participate in HACCP/FSSC 22000/ISO 22000implementation through health-related PRPs.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Registered Professional Nurse with Occupational Health Nursing qualification.
- Minimum 35 years experiencein Occupational Health Nursing preferably in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Knowledge of Food Safety Standards (ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000 / GMP / HACCP).
- Strong understanding of occupational health legislation(OHSA COIDA etc.).
- Computer literacy (MS Office health record systems).
- Excellent communication training and interpersonal skills.
