Are you a talented and ambitious university student studying Ecology Environmental Management or Earth Science related fields and youre looking to gain practical experience in your field of study We have the perfect opportunity for you to join the Waihi North Project team at OceanaGold.
This paid internship opportunity will run approximately from mid to late November through to mid-February (dependent on exam timetable of the successful applicant).
What will you be doing
Specific project work will involve:
Supporting the Waihi North Project baseline environmental monitoring through the establishment of ecological monitoring plots undertaking herpetofauna surveys assisting with the installation of telemetry for hydrometric monitoring sites supporting groundwater investigations and managing data effectively.
Supporting key deliverables to ensure compliance with consent conditions through accurate and consistent data collection. This will include monitoring environmental impacts on near town activities (noise water quality vibration air quality biodiversity) assisting with pest management at the remote exploration site and assisting with environmental inspections.
