Description
We are looking for passionate and committed students to become Rugby Minds Ambassadors. As an ambassador you will represent mental health awareness within your rugby club help build a culture of care and support your peers both on and off the pitch. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in student sport while developing valuable skills in leadership communication and well-being advocacy.

Start date: 8 September 2025

End date: 19 June 2026:
Working Hours:Up to 8 per week (shared between 2 student ambassadors)
Pay Rate: 13.12 per hour plus holiday pay
Location: David Ross Sports Village University Park
Dress Code: Smart casual

About the Role

This role is aimed at working with all of the rugby programmes at the University in order to develop an inclusive campaign focusing on player welfare and promoting a positive rugby culture at Nottingham. We are looking to recruit a student to work with us focusing on the following remit:
- Develop the Rugby Minds campaign across the UoNSport rugby programmes with a particular focus on welfare support and positive culture change ;
- Develop and coordinate a representative Rugby Minds committee to support delivery of key campaign objectives;
- Coordinate a programme of training and developmental opportunities;
- Promote opportunities and encourage engagement across the rugby programmes;
- Work with the committee to implement and further develop volunteering opportunities;
- Monitoring reporting and evaluation of work programmes.
All Student Ambassadors are required to represent the UoN Sport department alongside acting as the student representative for their specific area. Successful candidates will be part of a small but integral student ambassador team driving forward the provision and profile of sport at the University of Nottingham. The ambassador will receive support from UoN Sport full time staff as well as individual personal development programmes. This exciting role would be ideal for a pro-active individual looking to gain real transferable experience for the workplace.

Qualifications
Current undergraduate/postgraduate at University of Nottingham (E)
Minimum of 1 year remaining on degree course (E)
Knowledge
Understanding of the University rugby programmes (E);
Understanding of welfare support services within and outside of the University (E);
Knowledge of key University marketing networks (D);
Knowledge of the different UoN Sport and RFU programmes (D).
Skills
Strong communication skills with ability to tailor approach to target audience (E);
Confident IT user including Office (E);
Report writing and presentations (E);
Design skills e.g. Adobe Photoshop (D);
Management of social media channels (D).
Attributes
Passionate about rugby for all and welfare (E);
Creative and innovative approach (E);
Strong team player (E);
Self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative (E);
Highly organised with strong time management (E);

Experience
Previous voluntary or paid experience within media sport or leisure (D)
Experience of a leadership role within your peer group (E).
