Clinical Assistant Professor of Music in Vocal Studies and Opera
Job Description
LMU Department of Music is offering a one-year position starting August 16 2025 and ending May 15 2026. Pay is spread over twelve months semi-month payments commencing 8/16/2025 through 8/15/2026. This position comes with full-time benefits.
Instruction of music courses would focus on Vocal Performance and Vocal Development lack the consistent robust knowledge-based guidance and leadership necessary for this area to meet the educational needs of our students.
Job duties include:
- Provide overall guidance and programmatic structure to the areas of Vocal Performance including applied lessons ensemble participation jury & recital preparation.
- Be able to teach all voice-related courses within the Music curriculum: Applied Voice Lessons Vocal Pedagogy Alexander Technique Vocal Experience Diction for Singers.
- Direct the LMU Sinatra Opera Workshop
- Assist with the recruitment of prospective and current students in the area of Vocal Performance.
- Collaborate with Music faculty in the development of performance opportunities in the areas of Opera Vocal Jazz Popular Music Musical Theater R&B and Digital Recording/Sampling for Voice.
- Present a professional performance recital or equally relevant professional performance once during the academic calendar year (fall or spring).

Reasonable expected salary: $70000.00
