A Plumberinstalls maintains and repairs water and drainage systems fixtures and appliances ensuring compliance with codes and safety regulations.Key duties include reading blueprints troubleshooting leaks and blockages performing maintenance on water heaters and installing new piping in residential commercial or industrial settings.Essential skills for a plumber include blueprint reading technical knowledge of plumbing systems problem-solving physical stamina and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation:Install pipes fixtures and appliances according to blueprints and specifications.
- Maintenance:Regularly inspect and maintain plumbing systems including water heaters and drainage systems.
- Repair:Diagnose and fix issues such as leaks blockages and faulty fixtures.
- Compliance:Ensure all plumbing work adheres to local state and national health and safety codes.
- Diagnostics:Use specialized tools and knowledge to identify problems within plumbing systems.
- System Upgrades:Install new equipment such as boilers heat pumps and fire sprinkler systems.
- Record Keeping:Document work performed materials used and time spent on each project.
