Job Description
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young peopleNew Hope Christian School is seeking a dedicated and suitably qualified Counsellor to provide vital support to our students. This is a permanent part-time position (0.3 FTE/2 days per week) commencing as soon as possible.
New Hope Christian Schoolis a special school providing Christian Education for students with a mild to moderate level of intellectual delay or Autism in Kindergarten to Year co-educational Christian learning community is committed to developing and nurturing its Hope Christian School is located within the grounds of Pacific Hills Christian School and is a part of the Pacific Group of ten Christian schools with six of these schools located in regional student is unique and we aim to develop the full potential in each individual by providing a mixture of individualised and small group instruction and support. Skills And Experiences
Applicants should possess:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Relevant experience in educating counselling and/or volunteer work involving children and youths with disabilities.
- A university degree with a post-graduate Diploma/ Masters in Counselling or equivalent; those without a degree and with professional Counselling qualification and experience may also apply.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide direct counselling intervention to at-risk students
- Conduct case consultations to school personnel and parents
- Train teachers and parents on counselling-related issues
- Identify devise and deliver specialised programmes to assist students.
