Where we Work
Udemy is a global company headquartered in San Francisco with additional U.S. offices in Denver and Austin and international hubs in Australia India Ireland Mexico and Trkiye. This is an in-office position requiring three days a week in the office (Tuesday Wednesday Thursday) and flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

About this role
Udemy is searching for a Senior Software Engineer who embodies our values of embody ownership acting as one team relentless focus and never stop learning. We expect you to be proficient in Kotlin/Java Spring Boot Kafka MySQL DynamoDB Redis/Elasticache GraphQL Datadog Kubernetes Terraform. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable addressing moderately complex problems including navigating projects with ambiguous parameters.

As part of the Learner team you will be working on scaling the services that power our learning experiences. You will be directly responsible for building service capabilities that help learners identify and build new skills.
What youll be doing
Implementing product features using your proficient skills in Kotlin/Java Spring Boot Kafka MySQL DynamoDB Redis/Elasticache GraphQL Datadog Kubernetes Terraform to meet our teams objectives.
Building services that adhere to a high level of scalability and quality.
Applying analytical problem solving cross-functional communication and systems thinking to ensure smooth execution of product features.
Lead the optimization of code performance and processes to help your team achieve their goals.
Leading coordinating executing and delivering moderately complex projects at scale and quality.
Managing complexity within your team while concurrently interacting with teams in adjacent domains.
What youll have
Demonstrated that you never stop learning

Solid understanding of accessibility standards and leveraging design systems.
