About this role:

As a Senior Controls Engineer you will be crucial to ALCs business through the designing of advancedbuilding automation systems created specifically for each individual customer. We are looking forsomeone who works well in a team and has excellent problem-solving time management and multi-tasking skills. You will work on solving complex problems and lead smaller projects with less experiencedengineers to help develop their skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and program increasingly advanced building automation systems site-specific configuration of control systems and control algorithms.
• Creation where necessary of sequences of operation for the control of all building systems.
• Documentation of the BAS design (i.e. submittals) and revision control of the resultant documents.
• Site-specific configuration of the WebCTRL system (using SiteBuilder).
• Programming of control algorithms including those that include third-party integration (using Eikon).
• Development of graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems (using Eikon and ViewBuilder).
• Testing of programming and interfaces prior to deployment.
• Functional testing (commissioning) of complex building systems such as chiller plants and large integrations.
• Setup and execution of factory witness tests for projects which require them.
• Final documentation of the building automation system that incorporates all changes made since issuance of the submittal.
• Adhere to project requirements company and customer standards of design programmingand implementation.
• Technical support during the selling process to ensure that sales representatives accurately address customer requirements and propose the best possible solutions.
• Mentorship and development of less experienced Controls Engineers.
• Identification and communication of project opportunities and risks related to cost time and technical considerations.
• Timely creation of requests for information (RFIs) which are clear concise and well written.
• Clear communication and proactive expectation setting with manager and project teams both internal and external.
• Adherence to safety standards. High regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
• Adherence to ethics standards. Exemplifies the Carrier code of ethics.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree with 4 years of engineering or HVAC controls industry experience OR Associate Degree with 6 years ofengineering or HVAC controls experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of engineering or HVAC controls experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Engineering or Construction discipline.
• Experience in HVAC controls or related industry.
• Thoroughly understand electrical and mechanical building systems.
• Capable of designing and programming all but the most complex projects executed by Automated Logic.
• Able to understand write and recommend modifications to sequences of operation for the automation of all building systems.
• Able to interpret plans (including architectural mechanical and electrical blueprints) specifications and contract documents to deliver compliant but optimized designs.
• Able to concisely accurately and effectively request clarifications to technical or scope information via a formal RFI process.
• Competent proactive verbal and written communicator able to translate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Able to provide direction and guidance to other team members.
• Well organized and able to balance multiple concurrent priorities by communicating and negotiating due dates and deliverables with the project teams.
• Able to condense complex technical information into a comprehensive and clear set of design documents in a way that is easily understood and followed by project teams.
• Strong working knowledge of Automated Logic software hardware peripherals add-ons and services.
• Proficient with BAS software and associated engineering tools (Automated Logic suite preferred).
• Working knowledge of third-party communication protocols used in building automation (e.g. BACnet Modbus SNMP LON N2 etc.). Able to design and troubleshoot integrations with the same.
• Strong aptitude for problem solving even when troubleshooting remotely.
• Strong time management skills including the ability to accurately estimate time required to complete tasks and deliver on the committed timeline.
• Competency with Microsoft software including Windows Outlook Word and Excel.
• Team player with a positive attitude.
• Possess and maintains valid and current form of government issued identification.
• Ability to report to assigned work location reliably.
• Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capableof lifting items up to 50lbs.
