This position supports the Ankura Disputes & Economics Business Group - one of six practices focused on client delivery services across the Firm.
Practice Overview: The Disputes & Economics group provides expert data analysis services to businesses and attorneys. Our clients utilize our expertise to help them navigate complex financial accounting and economic questions that arise in high stakes business situations such as litigation or other contentious work product is used to help decide major questions often gets used in court even on issues that make the front-page news. The topics we cover are broad!
Role Overview: Some example projects you could be involved with in this role include analyzing the amount of money owed in consumers class action cases labor and employment lawsuits and healthcare matters. We also provide consulting on complex forensic accounting investigations in cases involving fraud or even business mergers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns perform a wide range of functions that may include developing and performing financial accounting economic and statistical analyses; loading and validating data received from clients into structured data formats; developing models using data analysis tools and programs; performing detailed and complex spreadsheet analyses; supporting with data gathering activities including document review research and quality control of data entry activities; and preparation of client reports and exhibits.
Basic Qualifications Skills and Characteristics:
Undergraduate students graduating between December 2026 and June 2027 with a preference for candidates majoring in an analytical course of study.
Solid academic performance in their course of study with a GPA of 3.3 highly preferred.
A working knowledge of MS Office Suite (e.g. Word Excel PowerPoint) and strong research and analytical skills.
Solid oral and written communication skills.
Initiative adaptability creative problem-solving skills supportive and cooperative on a team enthusiastic and self-motivated and sensitive to tight deadlines willingness to work overtime when needed.
Please note that this role requires permanent authorization to work in the U.S. (i.e. U.S. citizen or permanent resident). Internships and full-time University Associate roles are noteligible for U.S. immigration sponsorship work visa or any other temporary work authorization (i.e. OPT CPT).
Ankura is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. A reasonable estimate of the current payrate for this internship is: $34/hr.
