Ko tu ake mahi - What youll do
Senior Advisor
As a skilled policy practitioner youll contribute to the development and delivery of public health initiatives aimed at reducing alcohol harm. Youll work collaboratively across the Ministry and with external stakeholders to ensure diverse perspectives are reflected in policy design and implementation.
Principal Advisor
As a strategic leader youll drive high-level policy work and lead key projects/initiatives that support a comprehensive alcohol harm reduction work programme. A core focus of your role will be understanding and addressing the broader determinants of alcohol harm across diverse populations.

Senior Advisor
Experience in health and/or social sector policy or system strategy
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
Commitment to equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations
Understanding of the machinery of government Knowledge and experience of working in alcohol harm reduction sector is desirable
Relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience
Principal Advisor
Proven strategic leadership and senior policy development expertise
Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to lead complex projects and influence cross-sectoral collaboration
Deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations and equity principles
Previous experience working in central government and a thorough understanding of the machinery of Government
Knowledge and experience of working in alcohol harm reduction sector is desirable
Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in health or social sectors
