Senior VMware Microsoft & Linux Platforms 24x7 Engineer
Location: Onsite in Erskine or Newcastle
UK Work Mode: Full-time onsite operating within a 24x7 rotational shift pattern Compensation: Includes a generous 35% shift allowance

You wont just support operationsyoull shape them. This role is designed to leverage your expertise across the full 24x7 function influencing adjacent teams and helping grow technical capability across the board. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national and hold or be eligible for high-level UK government security clearance (DV). Please note we can consider candidates from both Erskine or Newcastle locations.
Essential Job Functions
What Youll Be Doing:
Own and manage infrastructure platforms from design through to incident resolution
Drive automation and operational efficiency using PowerCLI Terraform and Ansible
Ensure platform stability and security across vSphere NSX SRM Azure Active Directory and Linux distributions
Collaborate across the 24x7 operation to uplift technical standards and share best practices
Support hybrid environments with a focus on uptime scalability and compliance
What Youll Bring:
10 years of hands-on experience across VMware Microsoft and Linux ecosystems
Proven ability to lead technical troubleshooting and platform optimisation
Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell Bash Python)
Experience in secure environments and eligibility for UK government DV clearance
A proactive mindset with a passion for mentoring and growing technical teams
