As our Manager you will team with EY professionals and client stakeholders to advise many of the worlds largest organisations fastest growing companies and private equity firms on some of the most complex high-profile deals in the market. The transactions market is a major part of EYs go to market strategy. Working in Tax Transactions Advisory you will be given the tools training and flexibility to work on interesting and varied matters to grow your career exponentially with an employer that truly invests in the development and wellbeing of its people. This is a hybrid position andcan be performed from any of our EY offices across Aotearoa. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Ko T Rourou Your key responsibilities

  • Serves corporate and private capital markets clients undertaking third-party transactions in tax diligence general transaction advisory and overall transaction project management. Assists with internal restructuring and corporate and private equity buy/sell side due diligence development and execution of tax strategy by managing the risk arising from global law changes as a result of Base Erosion Profit Shifting (BEPS) management of tax liabilities and exposures and advise on transaction of financial instruments (e.g. cash debt and equity derivates foreign exchange etc.).
  • Focuses on identifying and analyzing tax risks and opportunities while advising on alternative tax strategies for acquisition disposition and restructuring of businesses; including the planning execution and integration of their transaction strategies

Ng Pkenga Skills and attributes for success

  • Extensive Experience and Technical Skills: Over 5 years of experience in a relevant New Zealand tax accounting legal or consulting role preferably with a top-tier or mid-tier New Zealand accounting or legal firm. Demonstrated expertise in New Zealand tax including tax due diligence deal structuring inbound and outbound transaction consulting international tax research tax compliance and post-acquisition planning.
  • Effective Communication and Client Service: Proven ability to succinctly and clearly communicate complex tax concepts to clients. Strong interpersonal skills and the capability to develop relationships with clients providing a high level of client service.
  • Project and People Management: Experience managing budgets projects and people coupled with excellent time management capabilities.
