Job Description
*Clearance: a T5 security clearance based on an initiated Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) in Defense Information System for Security DISS)*
*On-site required*
Location: Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) CIO C109 Portsmouth VA 23709
Responsibilities:
- Install configure troubleshoot and monitor network components including switches routers wireless access points firewalls and network appliances
- Implement DISA STIGs to ensure network component compliance
- Evaluate and respond to network incidents with appropriate corrective actions
- Support approved change management processes
- Manage complex network environments across routing switching and wireless technologies
- Review SEIM tools to discover and resolve network events
- Implement and manage security protocols and policies
- Perform root cause analysis with actionable recommendations
- Plan design and implement both local and wide-area enterprise networks
- Collaborate with DoD teams to support project objectives
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field
- Seven (7) years of experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Cisco networks
- Installing configuring troubleshooting and monitoring network systems hardware and software applications
- Implementation of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- Security information and event management (SEIM) tools utilization
- Advanced routing protocols (EIGRP OSPF) and switching technologies
- Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technologies like SD-Access and SD-WAN
- Working with Department of Defense teams to support project objectives

- Network switches (CISCO Nexus series 7000/9000 and Cisco Catalyst series)
- Cisco routers (CISCO)
- Cisco wireless access points (9000 series)
- Aruba wireless access points (AP)
- Required Software Experience
- Cisco Wireless LAN controller (WLC)
- Solar Winds
- Cisco ISE
- Cisco Catalyst Center (formerly DNA)
- Splunk
- Aruba Wireless LAN controller
- Active Security CE or higher
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand.
