The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is a top-ranked scientific research organization aimed at exploring the secrets of life. The Metabolomics Core Facility (MCF) at EMBL Heidelberg led by Michael Zimmermann provides state-of-the-art services for metabolite and lipid analysis to internal and external users. The facility combines cutting-edge analytical technologies including nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and mass spectrometry to support both targeted and untargeted metabolomics approaches. The MCF also develops new workflows and methodologies to address emerging biological questions. Your role
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to expand our expertise in NMR-based metabolomics and to contribute to both service provision and method development.
As a postdoctoral researcher in the Metabolomics Core Facility your responsibilities will include:
You have
A PhD in chemistry biochemistry analytical sciences or a related discipline.
Solid hands-on experience in NMR spectroscopy applied to metabolomics.
Experience in sample preparation and analysis of a range of biological matrices.
Proven skills in metabolomics data processing spectral interpretation and statistical analysis.
Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment.
You may also have
Experience integrating NMR with other omics approaches (e.g. MS-based metabolomics proteomics).
Programming or scripting skills (e.g. Python R MATLAB) for data processing and analysis.
Interest in developing open-access protocols spectral libraries and training resources for the community.
A strong publication record in metabolomics or related fields.
A second European language preferably Spanish French Italian or German
Contract length: 2 years
Salary: Postdoctoral fellow Stipend 4118.45 EUR monthly (after tax before 12% EMBL social security deductions)
