Job Description
Postdoctoral Associate
Doctorate in a field appropriate to the assigned duties and responsibilities.
We are seeking a fully funded postdoctoral associate position in bioinformatics and computational biology. This position will be jointly mentored by two investigators including Dr. Li Chen (onsite) in the Department of Biostatistics at University of Florida and Dr. Hongkai Ji (remote) in the Department of Biostatistics at John Hopkins University. This position available immediately focuses on developing statistical machine learning and deep learning methods to analyze multi-omics data (genetic epigenetic transcriptomic imaging single-cell genomics and spatial omics data) with the goal of understanding the underlying genetic architecture of complex traits and diseases. Key responsibilities for the postdoctoral associate position include data analysis manuscript writing research presentation at conferences and assistance with grant applications.
UF Biostatistics: The Department of Biostatistics is strategically situated within the College of Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP) and the College of Medicine. The department is ranked #11 in Biostatistics Programs at Public Universities by U.S. News & World Report. Currently the department has 28 full-time faculty. Faculty members are jointly appointed to create synergies and collective strength resulting in a competitive research profile and highly trained students who receive exceptional exposure to diverse expertise. Our faculty and students have received numerous national awards in research and mentoring and are committed to excellence in training. The department offers an PhD Master of Science and concentration in the MPH program and currently has 40 PhD students. All trainees of PhD graduates are placed into tenure-track faculty government and industry positions.
$62232 annually; commensurate with experience level and in accordance with current NIH postdoctoral salary guidelines.
Ph.D. in Biostatistics Computer Science Bioinformatics Statistics Mathematics or related field.

- Prior experience in genetic or genomic data analysis
