Job Description

Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist
Department: Finance
Reports To:Accounting Manager
FLSA Status:Salary Exempt

Summary
Summary The Accounts Payable Specialists responsibilities include serving as the primary role of accounts payable transactions for the agency. This includes preparing invoices for approval producing payments for AP and the agencys Representative Payee program vendor profile maintenance maintaining transactional reports performing account reconciliations and assisting with the close process. The Accounts Payable Specialist will also assist the Accounting Manager and Chief Financial Officer as needed.
Schedule:Monday -Friday from 8:00am - 4:00pm 8:30 - 4:30 or 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
40 hours. Salary Non-exempt.
Essential Job Functions
  • Enter Accounts Payable transactions into SAGE Intacct ERP accounting system
  • Prepare and process AP payments weekly.
  • Add and maintain vendor accounts in the accounting system
  • Prepare and process Shared Living and AFC stipends
  • Produce checks for the Representative Payee program
  • Reconcile the Agencys bank accounts
  • Assist Accounting Manager with month end close functions
  • Prepare annual 1099 forms and filings
  • Provide audit support and assistance as needed
  • Cross train in other Finance Department functions providing back-up as required
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
Experience/Education
  • Associates degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • At least two years experience in an Accounts Payable processing role
  • The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with Sage Intacct preferred
  • Attention to detail is critical for success in this role
