Job Summary

ROLE SUMMARY

The Deduction Specialist (DS) supports the day-to-day financial dispute research and resolution activities for Pfizer US Market Access. The position plays a key role in impacting Pfizers Profit and Loss and works closely with Pfizers Accounts Receivable and Collections Team. The DS works collaboratively with internal stakeholders to research document and close disputes in a timely manner so that Pfizer can successfully collect on any money owed while capturing all required documentation for audit. The DS will work closely with customers directly ensuring timely notification of claims outside of Pfizers policy and/or contracts and leads discussions with trading partners to address open issues. The DS will work directly with various departments and levels of management along with external vendors and direct customers to ensure proper documentation is captured accurate research is performed to support Global Business Services payback request. This position requires strong business acumen attention to detail and understanding of Pfizers Terms of Sale and Return Goods Policy products contracts and trade policies. The position requires self-direction an ability to apply complex business rules to achieve business objectives a solid understanding of financials around dispute management as well as internal controls of compliance.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • It is expected that the Deduction Specialist (DS) will use analytical skills to identify deduction trends pinpoint root causes of deductions and will use problem-solving skills to develop proactive plans to reduce chronic deductions and non-compliance fines and fees associated on accounts.

  • Process adjustments according to Pfizers policies and/or contract agreement with customers.

  • Responsible for working directly with assigned wholesaler retail chains or smaller trading partners to resolve accounts receivable deductions

  • Coordinates and/or participate on regular customer calls to ensure current policies contracts or Pfizer offered programs are being trading partners.

  • Request/review data from customers for accuracy to ensure information is per agreement(s) with strong analytical skills to perform in-depth analysis and present conclusions and recommendations to management.

  • Able to understand multiple policies within Pfizers business and has the organizational agility to know how to get things done through both formal and informal channels. Understands the reasoning behind key policies practices and procedures.

  • Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative bring forth issues to management and function in an environment of constant change and competing priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse groups leadership and customers directly to foster positive working relationships.

  • Key contributor with involvement in Collections payback request

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree with any years of experience or Associates degree with 4 years of experience or high school diploma (or equivalent) with 6 years of relevant experience

  • Preferred 2 years experience in the pharmaceutical trade business. Keen understanding of pharmaceutical trade policies (returns recalls contracts etc.) or 5 years experience working in Customer Service Finance or Logistics with experience researching and resolving customer claims.

  • Ability to work in a high-performing team environment

  • Experience with financial shared services

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel Word PowerPoint)

  • Experience in SAP and Business Objects reporting is a plus

  • This role requires extended periods of sitting or standing in front of a laptop or monitor.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $62700.00 to $104500.00. In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
