This role is part of Alcons Integrated Optical Systems team in the Advanced Optics Technologies organization a team focused on improvingquality processes products packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes. This position will be located at Alcons US headquarters in Fort Worth TX.
The Sr. Optical Engineer is primarily responsible for supporting optical engineering efforts through testing data analysis and research to enhance optical system design. You will be expected to collaborate with teams to validate optical models refine testing procedures and contribute to the development of high-performance optical solutions. The Sr. Optical Engineer within the Integrated Optical System function will support metrology system development and qualification.
Responsible for the analysis design development and testing of optical systems and components that manipulate light. This ranges from simple devices like eyeglass lenses to complex ones such as imaging systems in microscopes telescopes and lasers. The responsibility extends to studying the properties of light its interaction with various materials and human vision interpretation.
In this role a typical day will include:
Designing and building prototype optical system to support R&D Manufacturing and Clinical applications.
Documenting new processes and equipment in support of qualification and validation activities.
Identifying and conceptualizing novel optical technologies to support rapid product development cycles.
Assist with testing data analysis and research to improve optical system design and contribute to the development of high-performance optical solutions
Collaborate with teams to validate optical models and refine testing procedures
Apply engineering principles and troubleshoot optical issues
Ensure compliance with industry standards and adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Maintain accurate and complete documentation and ensure rigorous quality control
Complete all required training and meet individual job requirements to contribute to overall compliance of the organization
Commit to continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements
What Youll Bring to Alcon:
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school 10 yrs; Assoc.6 yrs; M.S.0 yrs)
The ability to fluently read write understand and communicate in English
2 years of relevant experience
