Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

The RSV Adult Vaccines Field Medical (VFM) Strategy & Execution Lead reports to the Vaccines Field Medical Portfolio Lead andserves as a core member of the Vaccines Field Medical Leadership Team.

ROLE RESPONSBILITIES

Leadership:

  • Lead for all US Vaccines Field Medical RSV Adult strategic and executional processes for all vaccines field medical teams.

  • Serves as a member of the US Vaccines Field Medical Leadership Team (LT).

  • Serves as US Field Medical Governance/Compliance Lead for US Vaccines Field Medical RSV Adult liaising with Legal Compliance and Governance on processes and issues related to US Vaccines Field Medical RSV Adult while ensuring continuous training and understanding across US field teams including participation in the RSV Adult GMAT.

  • Serves as Insights and Analytics Medical Lead for US Vaccines Field Medical RSV Adult leading the analyses of field data across all teams and driving insight analysis and policy and implementation strategy report generation for Team Leads cross functional stakeholders and the US Medical Affairs (USMA) Leadership Team.

  • Leads and coordinates development of US Vaccines RSV Adult Field Medical Activity and Insights Report encompassing the analysis and synthesis of field medical Insights / Data Facts Observations (DFOs) across RSV Adult Activities and leads a team of Vaccines FMDs in the development of a summary report for dissemination to cross functional stakeholders and the pertinent USMA LT members.

  • Collaborates with HQ RSV Adult Medical Lead and Medical Content Creation (MCC) to assess field medical content and resource needs resource creation and Medical Review Committee (MRC) approval for the US Vaccines Field Medical Group.

  • Represents US Vaccines Field Medical RSV Adult with the Global Vaccines Content and Education Team in the assessment and roll out of Global-driven solutions including interfacing with the Medical Affairs Academy (MAA) to align and implement content for onboarding ongoing professional education required professional technical training and use and conversion of Globally generated RSV Adult materials appropriate for Medical Review Committee (MRC) approval and use by US Vaccines FMDs.

  • Leads the innovation and development of new customer-facing RSV Adult resources and tools for US and Field Medical including digital video and evolving technologies.

  • Serves as the professional content interface for Business Technology (BT) for Field Medical related systems and outside vendors to ensure optimal performance consistent reporting and efficiency for all Field Medical systems and any new systems or updates as in pertains to Vaccines FMD RSV Adult needs.

  • Serves as US Vaccines Field Medical RSV Adult Training Coordinator responsible for organizing and executing continuous training of all teams on US Vaccines Field Medical RSV Adult specific processes and topics.

  • Develops implements and maintains a US Vaccines FMD Group Onboarding RSV Adult Training Plan ensuring relevance and alignment with Medical Affairs strategy and ensures full alignment with MAA processes.

  • Leads and facilitates Vaccines FMDs in the execution of key RSV Adult processes and initiatives for the Field Medical Group.

  • Coordinates prioritized RSV Adult Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) programs across the Vaccines FMD Group such as Research engagement processes Therapeutic Excellence to ensure Vaccines FMDs continuously improve the depth of their therapeutic capabilities.

  • Is responsible for maintaining strategic and executional alignment between the Vaccines FMD Team and US HQ Vaccines colleagues.

  • Leads and manages field medical RSV Adult assessments including managing and sharing the results with the Vaccine FMD LT and the US LT. Suggests improvements based on the results to the Vaccines Field Medical LT to ensure continuous improvement in our customer-facing skills.

  • Partners with Medical Information (MI) to provide expert input into Scientific Response Documents (Medical Letters) and ensures updates as needed.

Strategy and Business Planning:

  • As a member of the US Vaccines Field Medical Leadership Team contributes to the development and execution of Vaccines medical plan that is aligned with the US RSV Adult Medical Affairs brand-team plans for in-line and late-stage product strategies and objectives.

  • Coordinates and drives forward the development of a forward-facing RSV Adults Strategic Plan for the Vaccines FMD Group.

  • Ensure that the Vaccines Therapeutic Area has a clear and consistent RSV Adult medical narrative with regular updates to optimize executional performance by the Vaccines FMD Group.

  • Ensure that the Vaccines FMD Group is aligned on a clear set of field priorities on a regular basis.

  • Leads the development of resources such as roadmaps and playbooks to ensure consistent executional approaches across the Vaccines FMD Group at major national and international scientific congresses.

  • Serve as a key strategic and executional Vaccines Field Medical member of the annual US Op Plan process.

  • May represent Vaccines Field Medical on teams across Pfizer US or across business units for Field Medical Governance as requested by the Vaccines FMD Group Lead or Portfolio Lead.

  • Serve on Vaccines FMD and/or cross-functional cross divisional and cross business unit committees as directed by the Vaccines Field Medical Group Lead or Portfolio Lead.

  • Harmonizes plans and processes across the Vaccines Medical Affairs organization for simplicity efficiency and focus.

Executional Management:

  • Stays current on FDA and other US regulations and guidance that impact interactions with and delivery of medical information to external healthcare professionals.

  • Stays current on anticipates and adopts new digital technology on-demand and other related offerings that improve the efficiency of Vaccines FMD medical communications activities and/or enhance the overall medical customer experience.

  • Keeps updated on scientific and medical literature and developments within the designated therapeutic area (RSV Adult). Provides medical support for regional/country medical congresses.

  • Stays current on all relevant Pfizer SOPs and FM guidance documents.

  • Works in concert with the US Vaccines Field Medical Portfolio Lead or Group Lead to ensure that communication and collaboration between HQ and field-medical and other medical and commercial functions are effective appropriate and compliant and that the medical professionalism of the Vaccines FMD function in the creation and implementation of its objectives and activities is maintained.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers develop and coach others oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Terminal Doctorate degree (PharmD PhD or Doctor of Nursing Practice) with 7 or more years of relevant Medical Affairs experience required.

  • Vaccines RSV Field Medical Experience Required.

  • Previous Field Medical leadership experience required.

  • Experience working in a matrix organization with the ability to manage without direct authority.

  • Demonstration of strong strategic thinking skills as evidenced by the ability to identify alternative scenarios resulting implications and development of pragmatic recommendations for direction or action. Ability to analyze define and convey complex concepts

  • Strong written and verbal communication influencing skills to address leadership as well as internal audiences; strong presentation skills

  • Well organized with the ability to be flexible and prioritize multiple demands

  • Demonstrated track record of high performance and excellence

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience and expertise in Vaccines Therapeutic Area highly desirable; expertise in RSV Adult burden of disease and immunizations preferred

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel up to 40% which includes overnight travel

  • Must meet and comply with all Corporate Travel requirements policies and procedures as applicable

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $204700.00 to $341100.00. In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
