Description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Meat Science Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in the meat science field providing the opportunity to work on projects assist in quality assurance processes and gain valuable insights into the meat production industry. The ideal candidate is a student or recent graduate in Meat Science field who is eager to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Primarily focus their time in the sales arena on conducting analytical work
  • Spend time on plant floor learning the basics of the slaughter/fab/processing business
  • Work with each area to gain an understanding of the business and Carlton Farms products.
  • Engage with the FSQA department learning and understanding the importance
  • Spend some time in the warehouse learning how we move products and the value of cold chain
  • Supporting the team on projects

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of meat processing and food safety.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).


Requirements

  • Strong desire to work in the meat processing industry post-graduation.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive can-do attitude.
  • Ability to use Excel PowerPoint Word and Gmail.
  • 2.5 GPA or higher.
