The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Day Shift Shop QA/QC in our fabrication shop in SE (8700 Venture Ave SE not transit-accessible).

Reporting to the Shop Supervision/QA QC Manager the successful candidate will:

  • Possess CWB Level 1 Certification
  • Have 2 years previous Quality Control experience
  • Have CSTS-09/2020 ticket or Common Safety Orientation ticket
  • Have a solid understanding of ASME and CSA codes and practices
  • Show a proven commitment to Safety
  • Have the ability to use tools and equipment safely
  • Commitment to safety and adhering to all safe work practices and procedures
  • Complete dimension and visual inspections of welded piping and structural steel
  • Record welders symbols heat numbers and radiography numbers on drawings and travel sheets
  • Prepare documentation for and inspect hydrostatic & pneumatic pressure tests
  • Install name plates coordinate inspections with ABSA NDE Contractors and Client TPIs
  • Complete Quality Control paperwork
  • Be able to work in a manufacturing facility with other trades present
  • Have the ability to perform outside/inside work sometimes in inclimate weather conditions
  • Meet the physical demands of the position
  • Be able to lift up to 60lbs work at heights be agile and able to go on/off equipment up/down ladders
  • Experience in welding and ASME equipment and piping is an asse
