Job Summary:
This position is for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a tertiary care hospitals medical-surgical unit. The LPN will provide nursing care under the supervision of an RN manage their own patient assignments and contribute to a fast-paced hospital environment. Every other weekend and 3x12-hour night shifts are required.

Every other weekend and 3x12-hour night shifts are required.
Location: Rochester New York United States
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to patients on a medical-surgical unit.
- Manage own patient assignments with RN support.
- Gather and report patient data.
- Carry out physician orders and perform therapeutic procedures.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Participate in patient assessments and care planning.
- Administer medications as prescribed.
- Document patient care accurately and completely.
- Maintain a safe and clean patient environment.
- Respond to patient needs and concerns.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
- Manage own patient assignments with RN support.

Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current LPN license in New York.
- Minimum of 1 year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience (preferred but not required).
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage own patient assignments.
- Hospital experience within the last 2 years.
- Minimum of 1 year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience (preferred but not required).

Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in emergency or critical care environments.
- Proficiency with vents trachs and PICC lines.
- 2 years of experience in direct patient care.

Special Considerations:
- Every other weekend requirement.
