Job Summary:
This role is for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a long-term care facility within an acute care medical center. The CNA will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse assisting with activities of daily living collecting patient data and performing various clinical tasks. The position requires weekend availability and may involve variable shifts (5x8 or 3x12) depending on staffing needs. Housing and a vehicle are provided by the facility.
Location: Kodiak Alaska United States
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including ambulation hygiene feeding and toileting.
- Collect patient data such as vital signs weights and specimens.
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as incentive spirometry pulse oximetry and assisting with medication administration (under supervision).
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Document patient care accurately.
- Answer phones direct calls and perform other clerical duties as needed.
- Float within the facility to meet staffing needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license (or application submitted within 72 hours of contract signing if license is from another state). Proof of CNA training program completion required if license is not active in Alaska.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work weekends.
- Minimum of one year of experience (first-timers accepted).
- Valid drivers license and proof of insurance (if accepting facility-provided vehicle).

Special Considerations:
- On-call is not required.
- Weekend work is required.
- Variable shifts (5x8 or 3x12) will be assigned based on staffing needs.
- Facility provides housing and a rental vehicle. Pets are not allowed in housing.
- The facility-provided vehicle is for local use only (within a 30-mile radius) and must be returned clean with a full tank of gas.
- Guaranteed 60 hours per two weeks with the possibility of one 12-hour shift cancellation per two weeks.
- Travelers must live at least 50 miles from the facility.
Scheduling:
- Variable shifts (5x8 or 3x12 hours) depending on staffing needs.
- Weekend work is required.
- Shift assignments are determined closer to the start date based on facility needs. Block scheduling is not accommodated.
