SUMMARY:
The Engineer II reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for
supporting internal and external customers with product design and drawing generation. Typical tasks include evaluating customer needs and project specifications defining designs requirements and developing custom mechanical solutions to solve customer problems. The Engineer II accomplishes this via email audio or video conference meetings with both internal and external customers. The Engineer II must have professional-level knowledge of power electrical equipment with strong electro-mechanical background knowledge of UL Standards & NEC requirements from the design perspectives backed by experience in electrical equipment solutions. Furthermore the Engineer II must be successful in working with cross functional teams assisting with product design applications technical requirements that align with evolving business needs & market requirements remotely.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Responsible for designing and development/fabrication of electro-mechanical
products. - Provide documentation detailed instructions drawings or specifications to
communicate to others about how devices parts equipment or structures are to be fabricated constructed assembled modified maintained or used. - Responsible for assisting with technical submittals approvals concepts and
engineering fabrication package (also known as Hand Off Package at Company). - Read and interpret blueprints technical drawings schematics and computer
generated reports. - Utilize CAD design software such as Solidworks/AutoCAD to create 3D models drawings schematics for products based on customer specifications.
- Respond to departmental requests for changes in existing products to
modify/enhance to obtain results in a safe and cost-effective manner. - Provides technical customer service both internally and externally.
- Design new products equipment or systems considering cost availability of
materials strength and maintenance requirements appearance and impact on the user and on the environment. - Create BOMs and Item numbers in ERP system(s) using existing defined process.
- Participate in the effort of new ERP system implementation from the Engineering.
perspective providing feedback on industry best practices - May be required to perform a limited amount of travel to the site in Corona CA USA. There would be trips to field locations to solve engineering-related
problems in Mexico. - Acquire intimacy with customer insights their needs/wants via keen personal
observations informal feedback sound analysis of internal data and secondary information and via tools of formal marketing research. - Articulate and secure understandings of companys core competencies & values; endeavors to protect and preserve these as well as identify business building opportunities that strengthen and leverage these.
- Successfully match customer requirements to proposed standard or customized solutions.
- Support the Application Engineering Team in determining scope of supply from project drawing and specifications.
- Responsible for all technical aspects of Pre-Sale & Post-Sale communications to the Application Engineering team & Commercial Operations team from the
design perspectives. - Perform all other job-related instructions requested by their supervisor subject to reasonable accommodations.

- Be familiar in mechanical design in relation to UL requirements.
- Become the mechanical technical resource in all Company product offering.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Proven work experience as an Engineer.
- 5 years of technical experience working with electrical & power equipment.
- 3 years of experience working with electrical regulatory agencies and NOM (Norma Oficial Mexicana) Certification for Mexico preferred.
- Ability to work harmoniously with internal and external resources at all levels an earnest posture to encourage feedback a keenness to listen and learn assiduously from others as well as an openness to share sound management business or analytical perspectives that enhance knowledge and skill of others in turn.
- Excellent communication in English persuasion and presentation skills written and oral.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field required a masters degree in engineering or equivalent preferred.
