Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Intune Specialist to join our team and support the implementation and management of Microsoft Intune and SCCM (MECM) in our organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in endpoint management application deployment and device configuration. The Senior Intune Specialist will work closely with the Intune Architect to ensure successful execution of the project tasks contribute to the migration strategy and provide expert support to enhance our endpoint management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Current State Assessment Support:

  • Assist in the inventory and evaluation of the existing SCCM infrastructure including roles versions and usage.
  • Support the review of co-management status and current capabilities including patch management OS deployment and application deployment processes.
  • Help in conducting readiness checks for SCCM upgrades focusing on site health and backups.

SCCM Upgrade Execution:

  • Collaborate in the upgrade of SCCM (MECM) to the latest current branch ensuring compliance with co-management and cloud integration features.
  • Validate site health boundary groups and client versions following the upgrade.

Co-Management Enablement:

  • Assist in linking SCCM to Intune through the Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin center.
  • Help to gradually shift workloads such as compliance Windows Updates and application installations to Intune.
  • Participate in piloting co-managed devices particularly hybrid-joined Windows endpoints.

Pilot Intune Autopilot Deployments:

  • Support the configuration of Autopilot profiles Enrollment Status Page (ESP) and enrollment settings.
  • Test deployments on a sample set of modern devices validating Azure AD join app provisioning and conditional access.

iPadOS Device Management Implementation:

  • Enroll pilot iPadOS devices in Intune and push configuration profiles and required applications.
  • Ensure integration with Microsoft 365 apps Microsoft Defender and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) controls.

Application Packaging Support:

  • Assist in defining packaging standards including silent installations detection rules and uninstallation processes.
  • Participate in the packaging and testing process to ensure application compatibility with Intune.

Migration Strategy Contribution:

  • Collaborate with the Intune Architect to define a full production migration strategy scoping the migration path by endpoint type (workstations servers engineering test devices).
  • Help build the roadmap define roles and responsibilities (RACI) and identify necessary resources for migration.

Phased Migration Planning:

  • Support the development of a phased migration plan for the workstation fleet using Autopilot and Intune.
  • Assist in planning for special handling of Engineering Test Devices and evaluate the retention of SCCM or transition to Azure ARC for servers.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure endpoint management or systems administration.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Intune and SCCM (MECM) in enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Active Directory and mobile device management (MDM) principles.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in application packaging and deployment methodologies.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks.
  • Understanding of security compliance standards and best practices in endpoint management.

Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Security Compliance and Identity Fundamentals or higher is preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with various teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
