We are seeking an External Reporting Accountant at our Global Headquarters in Allentown PA.

This position is part of a highly regarded collaborative Technical and Consolidation Accounting department that is engaged in many aspects of the Companys dynamic growing business in 50 countries. You will be responsible for key accounting and reporting tasks including external reporting and U.S. GAAP research and application. You will demonstrate a proactive mindset and confidence in navigating evolving regulatory guidance along with a strong sense of ownership drive to excel and a commitment to continuous learning.

Required Skills / Abilities:

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to analyze summarize and present complex reporting topics clearly and concisely.

Skilled at prioritizing and completing tasks under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.

Meticulous attention to detail consistently ensuring precision and accuracy through thorough analysis and critical review.

Sound judgment and professionalism in handling confidential or sensitive financial information.

Proactive and adaptable with the ability to navigate ambiguity and shifting regulatory environments confidently.

Ability to build strong working relationships across departments and communicate effectively with non-accounting stakeholders.

Comfort with continuous process improvement and openness to adopting new technologies or workflows.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate preparation and filing of the Companys quarterly and annual SEC filings including review and maintenance of XBRL.

  • Participate in drafting and reviewing quarterly earnings release and investor teleconference materials ensuring accuracy consistency across related content and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare quarterly and ad hoc materials for the Board of Directors and its Committees highlighting the financial statements SEC disclosures and other accounting and financial topics relevant to oversight and decision-making.

  • Manage the Companys Wdesk environment by evaluating and implementing new features and process enhancements while serving as the primary liaison between Air Products and Workiva to ensure optimal platform functionality and support.

  • Assist in review of complex business transactions including performance of technical accounting research preparation of internal documentation and communication to cross functional stakeholders as well as creation of external disclosure proposals that comply with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

  • Assist with special projects including review and implementation of recent accounting pronouncements new SEC rules and emerging regulatory developments.

  • Support execution and sufficient documentation of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 controls including evaluation of effectiveness and remediation tracking.

  • Act as a liaison with external auditors to provide timely support for quarterly review and annual audit procedures ensuring all requests are met with accurate well-organized and high-quality deliverables.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • 2 - 4 years of accounting or financial reporting work experience is required.

  • Proficiency in researching and applying U.S. GAAP is required.

  • Big 4 public accounting and/or SEC reporting experience is preferred but is not required.

  • A Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

  • CPA is preferred but is not required.

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.

  • Experience using Wdesk SAP and/or BPC is preferred but is not required.
