Patient Care Assistant II

Pay

HK$19764 - HK$24701 per month

Up to 5% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide care related patient services and technical support to clinical services including:

1. Assist doctor/nurse to perform clinical procedures or investigations in ward.

2. Prepare patients and equipment for clinical procedures and investigations.

3. Checking patients vital signs and other physical parameters including measuring blood pressure oximetry spirometry urine test body mass index etc.

4. Helping with observations checking and directing patient flow.

5. Post clinical procedure equipment cleansing & disinfection.

6. Provide patient care delivery and basic patient intervention according to nursing instruction.

7. Provide patient education as according to protocol.

8. Assist nurse to escort patients for examination / treatment or transfer to other hospitals.

9. Perform delivery task when assigned e.g delivery of documents equipment specimen etc.

10. Perform daily disinfection care and maintenance of medical equipment.

11. Handle appointment booking registration and answering enquiries from patients and their relatives.

12. Handle telephone enquiries and forward calls for professional handling if required.

13. Support computer work of clinical research with data entry analysis and report writing.

14. Assist in inventory monitoring consumables checking and restock after use.

15. Co-ordinate with external suppliers and other hospital departments.

16. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisors.

Entry Requirements:

1. (a) Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent; OR

(b) Completed F.3 / S.3 or equivalent with 2 years or above care-related experience (see Remarks);

2. Completed structured departmental training (see Remarks);

3. Good command of English and Chinese written and spoken.

Preferred Attributes:

1. Post-secondary education or holding diplomas/certificates from recognized technical or tertiary institutions is preferable.

2. Good communication skill.

3. Holding the relevant health care training and experience of working in health care settings are preferred.

4. IT knowledge (Word / Excel / Powerpoint etc). Experience in the use of statistics and data processing software (e.g. Excel SPSS) is preferred.

2. Applicants who do not meet entry requirements (2) if find suitable will be employed to undergo at least 6 months on the job training including the structured departmental training. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training.

3. Candidates who have completed the JUMP program organized by Hospital Authority are considered to have attained F.3/S.3 level.
