Your Role:
- Teach Visual Arts across Stages 46 including elective courses and senior HSC classes.
- Teach elective Photographic and Digital Media to Stage 5 and Stage 6 Preliminary Photography Video and Digital Imaging.
- Deliver engaging rigorous and creative lessons that foster both technical skill and critical thinking in artmaking art criticism and art history.
- Support students in developing bodies of work portfolios and exhibition practices.
- Integrate a variety of media technologies and contemporary practices into teaching and learning.
- Actively contribute to the creative culture of the school including exhibitions performances and whole-school events.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress assessment and reporting in line with NESA and school requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan programs share resources and contribute to the growth of the Creative and Performing Arts faculty.
- Participate in ongoing professional learning and apply current pedagogical practice in the classroom.
- Authentically integrate your Christian faith into your teaching practice through pedagogy and your interaction with students.
- Engage in pastoral care responsibilities building strong relationships with students and contributing to the wellbeing culture of the school.
- Contribute to co-curricular and enrichment opportunities within the Visual Arts program (e.g. competitions excursions workshops).
About you:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate at interview a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with that faith including an active commitment to a Christian fellowship as well as the following skills and experience:
- be a highly committed professional and have a desire to make a difference in the lives of students
- be an excellent classroom practitioner communicator and have solid classroom management skills.
- proven successful experience teaching HSC Visual Arts courses;
- be committed to academic excellence with high expectations of students
- possess strong interpersonal skills valuing relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
- collaborate with colleagues in developing integrated learning experiences be committed to their own professional learning and growth
- be pastorally minded and comfortable with sharing their faith
- have an understanding of the wellbeing needs of adolescents
- be willing to actively contribute to the extra-curricular life of the College
