Job Description
AmeriCorp Members are hired through AmeriCorp not Fairview Independent Schools. You may apply on the district website or email a resume to
What do the members do
They tutor students in grades 3-5 math for 80% of the school day.
They teach all fourth-grade classes the Too Good for Drugs ten-lesson curriculum.
They sponsor or co-sponsor the schools UNITE Club.
They attend monthly UNITE coalition meetingsto learn about additional opportunities your school may qualify for such as funding for special programs (archery team etc.).
This year the member benefits are:
From September 11 2025 to June 18 2026 a living stipend of $15000 annually will be paid every two weeks.
Education award: $5176.50
Childcare Housing and SNAP benefits- if they meet the household income guidelines.
Health insurance (for the member only).
If they have a student loan they may pause their loan payments and no interest will accrue whileserving as an AmeriCorps member.
The living stipend is taxedbutnot considered employment;therefore it will not count as incomewhen applying for benefits such as SNAP Housing assistance or the Childcare Benefit.
