Work Arrangement

Onsite - This role requires you to be onsite on a full time basis. The primary work location will be Warren MI.

The Role

Step into a pivotal role as an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer within our Advanced Robotics Engineering Organization located in Warren MI. Youll be at the heart of a dynamic multidisciplinary team pushing the boundaries of robotics technology by designing innovative electrical systems for next-generation robotic platforms. This is an opportunity to shape the future of automation and intelligent machines within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

What Youll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Design develop and validate electrical hardware systems and schematics for advanced robotics applications.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical software and manufacturing teams to integrate electrical components seamlessly into robotic architectures.
  • Generate detailed documentation including wiring diagrams bills of material (BOMs) and test procedures.
  • Support PCB layout component selection and system prototyping activities from board-to-enclosure level of integration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical systems during build integration and testing phases.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations standards and company policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in cost electrical design reliability and manufacturability.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Demonstrated expertise in electrical system design schematics and documentation.
  • Solid understanding of analog and digital circuits PCB layout PLC Control and similar hardware component selection.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded systems microcontrollers and communication protocols (CAN RS-485 Ethernet etc.).
  • Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as Altium Designer OrCAD or equivalent.
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience.

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience designing electrical systems for robotics automation or related industries.
  • Knowledge of safety compliance standards (UL CE ISO 13849 etc.).
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and iterative development cycles.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools for circuit analysis (SPICE MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams.
