WORKING PATTERN
12 weeks training the first few weeks you will work on Monday-Friday at 9:00-17:00. Thereafter training will continue during your regular shift hours which are 14:00-22:00.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Following a highly regulated end to end sterilization/decontamination process on surgical instruments that have been used in operations in local NHS and private hospitals to ensure they can be used again safely for the next patient.
- Ensuring the effective preparation of sterile consumables (dressings linen surgical instruments and equipment) by the process of decontamination inspection assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
- Rigorously checking washing laying up and packing sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards.
- Safely operating and monitoring machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors ultrasonic and sterilisers) effectively.
- Ensuring that repairs and missing instruments or equipment are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
- Ensuring that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trusts appointed person.
Required Experience
- Educated to a good general standard with demonstrable verbal and numerical abilities.
- Basic end user IT skills to operate track and traceability IT system.
