What Youll Do
A typical day as an Associate Underwriter may include:
- Reviewing and analyzing commercial insurance submissions.
- Deciding whether to accept decline or modify risks to ensure profitable results.
- Communicating with brokers and building strong relationships.
- Recommending process improvements to management.
- Monitoring producer performance and profitability.
- Assisting in developing new products forms and coverages.
Qualifications
A successful candidate has:
- Bachelors degree expected May 2026 in business economics risk management or related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical and organizational strengths.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook).
- Collaborative spirit and entrepreneurial mindset.
A compelling candidate also has:
- Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables V-Lookups).
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage high volume with precision.
