Summary


Join the City of Medford as our Supervising Electrician / Building Utility Technician III and put your expertise to work in a role that offers both variety and this position youll take the lead on complex electrical projects oversee the electrical work ofskilled technicians and ensure City facilities are safe efficient and fully operational. From designing and inspecting electrical systems to maintaining HVAC plumbing and building automation systems youll have the opportunity to apply your skills across a wide range of trades.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from high school or GED; and
  • Current Oregon State General Supervising Electrician License; and
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible building and facility operations maintenance and repair experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to effectively use office equipment and computer software specifically Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook) and Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Building Operator Certificate
  • Oregon Boiler Operators Certificate
  • Oregon Journeyman HVAC/R License
  • Forklift Operators Certificate

Available Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

The anticipated hiring range for theSupervising Electrician / Building Utility Technician IIIposition is $33.07(first step) to $34.72or $36.45(second or third step).The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education experience andqualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay are included in this salary range allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This position requires a mix of indoor and outdoor work across a wide variety of City locations including buildings parks and facilities. The role involves performing hands-on repairs in diverse physical settings such as mechanical rooms ceilings and other confined or elevated spaces. This work may include frequent contact with high-voltage electricity live circuits and energized equipment and requires adherence to strict safety protocols. You will be exposed to various environmental conditions including all types of weather and will travel to different sites using a City-owned vehicle. The work also includes an administrative component involving design planning and record-keeping.

The physical demands of this position require the ability to stand walk and sit for extended periods. The role involves frequent stooping kneeling crouching crawling climbing ladders and working at heights or in confined spaces. You must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier items with assistance. Good eyesight hearing and hand-eye coordination are essential for this role as is the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
